Leann made a special birthday cake just for Lilli. It was a white cake decorated with flowers made out of strawberry frosting and whipped ganache. And the guests got cupcakes made roughly the same way.[1] There was also a vegetable tray, watermelon, and pink lemonade.
This dress was supposed to be one of Lilli's presents, but Leann liked it so much that she put it on Lilli early. So it was a party dress. It came off before we gave Lilli any cake.
It's a good thing, too, because she made a mess! Here's Lilli 'eating' her cake. I put it in quotes because very little of it ended up in her mouth compared to everywhere else it ended up. (Be warned that the movies are kind of long.)
She was so dirty she had to take a bath before opening presents. Don't worry—that's just chocolate in the water.
For her birthday she got a doll, some Dr. Seuss books, a See 'n Say, bubbles, a book about Jesus that she can read at church, wooden blocks, a purse, two crisp $2 bills (from her recently-departed Great Grandma Mary), and a bouncy ball. She also got a helium balloon (despite the national helium shortage [2]), but I didn't get any photos of it.
She had a lot of fun chasing and getting chased by her uncle Nathan and her cousin Josie.
And let's not forget Lilli's lilies!
